Village by village - let us build the movement from your own place.

Vijayapura (formerly Bijapur) is a district in northern Karnataka - find your village below, join, and share what matters in your place with us.

Vijayapura sits on the Deccan plateau of northern Karnataka, north of the Krishna river, and is the district headquarters. It was the capital of the Adil Shahi sultanate (15th-17th centuries), whose rulers left landmark monuments - the Gol Gumbaz (one of the world's largest domes), the Ibrahim Rauza, Bara Kaman and the old fort.

Today it is an agricultural region known for jowar, pulses, grapes, lemon and sugarcane, with the Almatti (Upper Krishna) reservoir a major source of irrigation. The district is organised into several talukas and hundreds of villages - all listed below.
